Join Our Team as a Human Resources Specialist!

We are looking for a dedicated and dynamic Human Resources Specialist to support our credit union's HR functions and contribute to a thriving work environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • HR Administration: Take charge of routine HR tasks, including compensation, benefits, leave administration, and performance management. Ensure all HR processes run smoothly and efficiently, including the timely processing of bi-weekly payroll.
  • Recruitment & Hiring: Assist in the recruitment process by coordinating with hiring managers, managing the Applicant Tracking System (ATS), and facilitating interviews to bring in top talent.
  • Onboarding & Employee Engagement: Implement and lead new hire orientation programs, ensuring a warm and professional welcome for all new employees. Develop and execute employee recognition programs to maintain a motivated and productive workforce.
  • Records Management: Maintain accurate employee personnel records in compliance with federal, state, and local laws. Keep both electronic and paper files organized and up-to-date.
  • Compliance & Best Practices: Stay ahead of the curve by maintaining knowledge of HR trends, best practices, and regulatory changes. Ensure that all HR activities comply with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Employee Support: Be a reliable point of contact for employees, providing assistance with benefits, HR-related inquiries, and employee relations matters. Handle sensitive issues with discretion and tact.

What We’re Looking For:
  • Experience: 2-5 years of experience in HR or a related field. You’ve been in the trenches and know what it takes to manage day-to-day HR operations.
  • Education: A bachelor’s degree or equivalent HR certifications.
  • Interpersonal Skills: You excel in communication, conflict resolution, and relationship building. You handle confidential information with the utmost care and professionalism.
  • Knowledge: You’re well-versed in federal and state employment laws and have a strong understanding of HR best practices.

Since 2007, she has volunteered and held leadership positions with the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo Committee on the World’s Championship Bar-B-Que Committee, demonstrating her commitment to supporting local traditions and events. Rebecca was also a member of The Junior League of Houston for 10 years, giving her the opportunity to volunteer and serve a variety of groups in the Houston community. In her leisure time, she enjoys traveling, spending time with her friends and family, and spending the day on the golf course.
