Credit Union Collector

Job Description


Credit union in Sugar Land is looking for a Collector to join their team. This position will be responsible for controlling delinquent loan accounts, collecting delinquent loan payments, recovering collateral, and minimizing losses on negative accounts.

*BANK OR CREDIT UNION COLLECTION EXPERIENCE REQUIRED*

Primary Duties:
  • Contact delinquent and negative account balances by phone and mail
  • Analyze financial situation of delinquent borrowers; make recommendations to repossess collateral when other arrangements to bring loan current are unsuccessful
  • Document all contacts with detailed notes and reports on collection activity
  • Prepare reports as assigned
  • Testify at legal proceedings as needed
  • Inform management of trends in loan underwriting contributing to delinquent/charged-off loans
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Requirements:
  • Six months to one year of similar experience
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Strong communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  •
