What You'll Do:
• Underwrite conventional and FHA loans in compliance with investor and government agency guidelines
• Review credit packages and appraisals to ensure accuracy and regulatory compliance
• Analyze complex income scenarios, including personal and business tax returns
• Communicate loan decisions clearly to internal teams and stakeholders
• Identify red flags and assess documentation for potential fraud risks
• Collaborate with Loan Originators to restructure challenging loan files into salable packages
• Ensure all underwriting conditions are satisfied prior to closing
• Stay current on evolving mortgage regulations and agency requirements
What We’re Looking For:
• Minimum 5 years of recent mortgage underwriting experience
• Strong experience underwriting CONV and FHA loans
• Active DE (Direct Endorsement) designation required
• VA designation preferred
• In-depth knowledge of agency and investor guidelines
• Strong analytical skills with attention to detail
• Ability to manage high loan volume while maintaining quality and compliance
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Must be authorized to work in the United States
